There are many different ways to bowl a cricket ball. Some players rely on their power to generate high speed bowls, while others choose flight in order to focus on creating ball movement. HOWSDAT will help you understand and teach you the method of hanging the grip of the ball, so you are able to control the direction a ball bounces after it has struck the pitch, making it even more difficult for a batter to hit.
Being a fast bowler allows you to keep batsmen on their toes and to be your team’s go-to bowler when they need a wicket. Perfecting your pace bowling technique takes time and practice. Through developing a solid delivery and strengthening your body, you can gain the necessary skills to be a great fast bowler.
A seam is the circular leather stitch that joins the two halves of the ball. The stitch is slightly elevated. In-Seam bowling, the ball is released in such a way that the seam hits the pitch and deviates. So, the ball either gets diverted in any direction or goes straight. The seam of the ball is also used in swing bowling but in a dissimilar way. In swing bowling, the seam of the ball is used along with the wrist position and shiny and rough side of the ball. Weather plays an important role in swing bowling.
Spin bowling relies on the ability to rotate the ball to put out the batsman. This causes the ball to turn at an angle after it bounces off the cricket pitch. The batsmen are unsure of the direction of the ball after the bounce. The deviation of the ball changes for each delivery depending on the grip of the ball held by the bowler and the nature of the pitch. Sometimes this leads the batsman to hit a mistimed shot and lose his wicket.
In wrist spin, as the name already suggests, the bowlers use their wrist to impart spin to the ball. They release the ball from the back of their hand and so it passes over their little finger.
Finger spin bowling refers to using specific hand movements to spin the ball. Usually, the finger spin bowlers turn the ball less than wrist spinners.
The batting person main responsibility is to Score runs and utilise the bat in order to protect the wicket from being struck by the ball.
The wicket consists of three vertical stakes (stumps) which has two horizontal bails.
HOWSDAT will teach you to be Comfortable, Balanced and ready to move . How to swing/strike the bat according to the ball.
“Yes” or “No” or “Wait” the 3 most important calls when batting or at non strike end.
These drills are the fastest way to improve your essential cricket fielding skills. There is nowhere with a more comprehensive set of free fielding drills than here on HOWSDAT.

These drills will be used in real world with cricketers across a range of skills and experience. Whether you are a beginner, a professional cricketer, or somewhere in-between you will find something that you can use right away.
These drills are great, but to get the best from them you need to understanding when and how to incorporate them into practice sessions.
It’s important to know why you are doing a drill, is it for skill development, honing technique, fitness and fielding under pressure
The major responsibility for ensuring fair play rests with the captains, but extends to all players, match officials and, especially in junior cricket, teachers, coaches and parents.
If a delivery from the bowler hits the stumps and it removed the bails completely from the top of the stumps, then the batsman is declared out and the credit of the wicket goes to the bowler.
If the batsman hit the ball and the ball is caught by a fielder or the bowler before it hits the ground, then the batsman is declared out and the credit of the wicket will goes to the bowler.
If the ball hits any part of the body of the batsman which may hit the stumps then the Umpire can call out. if the batsman is playing some stroke then the impact of the ball should be in the line connecting two wickets. if the batsman is not playing any stroke then even if the ball strikes him outside the off stump can also considered to be out. another condition for LBW is that the ball should not have a contact with the gloves or bat of the batsman before hitting the body.
If any of the fielder uses the ball to remove the bails from the top of the stumps while the batsmen are running between the wickets then the batsman who failed to enter into the crease before the removal of bails is declared out.
If the batsman stepped out of the crease and misses the ball. Then the keeper can catch that ball and remove the bails before the batsman enters in to the crease and if this happens then the batsman is stumped out.
